Our Radon Testing

Protect Your Health with Professional Radon Testing

Radon is a cancer-causing radioactive gas formed by the natural breakdown of uranium in the soil. It enters your home through cracks and holes in the foundation and can accumulate to dangerous levels. Radon is invisible, odorless, and tasteless, so the only way to know if your home has a radon problem is to test for it.

Radon is a leading cause of death in private homes, claiming over 20,000 lives every year. The gas becomes suspended in the air, and when inhaled, its radiation can damage lung tissue and DNA. Unlike carbon monoxide and other pollutants, radon’s most dangerous health effect,

lung cancer, can take years to develop—making it a silent danger.

Why Radon Testing is Essential

Radon levels can be high in both new and old homes, with or without basements, and even homes next to each other can have different radon levels. Testing is the only way to know if your home has unsafe radon levels. The EPA’s action level is 4.0 picocuries per liter, and any test result above this level requires mitigation. Even homes with a mitigation system in place should be tested every 2 years to ensure it is functioning properly.

Radon Testing During Real Estate Transactions

During a real estate transaction, a radon disclosure form is required. This form provides details about radon hazards, and all parties involved—the seller, buyer, and agent—must sign it. Testing is essential, even if the seller provides prior test results, as results may vary by time of year, system presence, and other factors.
